Health files bid to trace secret beast
SECRET SEX BEAST
POLICE are checking hospital and benefit records to try to trace the high-risk fugitive sex offender Crown lawyers won’t let them name.
We told last week how the Crown rejected a police plea to let them reveal the pervert’s identity so the public can help find him.
It’s believed the lawyers fear that naming him would jeopardise his legal rights.
Police Scotland said: “Officers are carrying out substantial inquiries to trace this wanted individual.
“This includes extensive police, hospital, welfare and vehicle checks, inquiries with family, friends and associates and liaison with partner organisations.”
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service have resisted pressure from politicians and campaign groups to lift the secrecy order.
