NADE IS RED THE RIOT ACT

LAST NIGHT’S ACTION

- DUMBARTON ................ 0 ANNAN ATH ................. 0 (ANNAN WIN 4-3 ON PENS) EAST FIFE ...... 3 ELGIN .............. 2

DUMBARTON boss Steven Aitken blasted Christian Nade for his needless red card as Annan claimed the bonus point after their shootout win.

Ryan Stevenson bagged the decisive spot-kick but it was Nade’s sending off for dissent in the first half that irritated Aitken after a claim for handball in the visitors’ box was ignored.

The Sons manager said: “He got into a confrontation with the linesman. In fairness it came after the Annan boy had admitted a handball which wasn’t given. But Christian will have to learn.” Mark Stewart went closest for Dumbarton in the first half and after the break Annan’s Daniel Orsi and Ruan Stevenson hit the woodwork before Owen Moxon picked up a second yellow card.

Annan boss Peter Murphy said: “The players showed good character.” DARREN YOUNG saluted his stand-ins after Paul Willis hit the winner for the injury-hit Fifers to settle a second-half goal fest.

Thomas Reilly’s free-kick gave Elgin the lead shortly after the break but Chris levelled and Mark Docherty edged East Fife ahead from the spot after Matthew Cooper tripped Pat Slattery.

Reilly hit back for the away side only for Willis to grab victory in 82 minutes after fa fine passing move.

Boss Young said: “We are missing eight players but the boys we had out there did themselves proud.” BOSS Stewart Petrie was full of praise for Montrose after a deserved win.

Kerr Hay fired home in 21 minute to put the hosts ahead and Paul Watson made it 2-0 from close range just after the break.

Alloa got one back in 82 minutes through Iain Flannigan after a mazy run.

Petrie said: “My players were excellent. I am pleased for them as they have taken a couple of skelpings so it was great to win at home.

“We can rest now before the league starts, by which time I hope to some of my injured players available.” CRAIG MOORE hit a double as rampant Ayr made it three wins on the spin.

David Goodwillie put Clyde into an early lead but Robbie Crawford fired Ayr level before Moore volleyed them into a half-time lead.

Michael Moffat made it 3-1 then Moore rifled home before Declan McDaid volleyed the fifth.

Boss Ian McCall said: “The attitude was great. A few of our players are potentially better than Championship level.”

Clyde boss Jim Chapman said: “It’s a massive learning curve for us.”
