A CONCERNED husband yesterday appealed to the public to help him understand what has happened to his missing wife.

Nusrat, 34, vanished from her home in Aberdeen’s Duff Street last Thursday after telling friends that she was heading to the nearby beach.

A friend alerted police over concerns for her well-being but five days of intensive land, air and sea searches have drawn a blank.

Extensive inquiries involving police, mountain rescuers, divers and coastguards have failed to track her last movements and establish her whereabouts. The last confirmed sighting of Nusrat was at Marischal College at about 4pm on Thursday.

Yesterday, the search concentrated on the coastline between Cove and Torry Battery to ensure all potential locations have been searched. As the hunt continued, Nusrat’s husband Colin Dow issued a plea to anyone with information that could assist to get in touch as soon as possible.

He said: “It has been five days since Nusrat went missing and with each day that passes we are finding it increasingly difficult to come to terms with the fact no one has seen or heard from her.

“We are extremely grateful for the support police have had so far from the public by providing information and potential sightings of Nusrat.”

Colin added: “The sad reality though is that she is still missing and we don’t know where she is.

“To anyone else who can help us understand what has happened to Nusrat, I would ask you to get in touch with police as soon as possible and tell them what you know.”
