The site opens at 10am and finishes at 6pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday. www.tsia.scot On Saturday, September 2, some of the aircraft you’ll be able to see include the RAF Falcons parachute display team, an RAF Typhoon, a Lancaster bomber, Hurricane and Spitfire, and a MiG-15 jet fighter.

There will also be a Royal Marines demonstrat­ion with a beach assault featuring inshore fast patrol craft, offshore raiding craft, a Merlin helicopter and a full detachment of Royal Marines.

On Sunday, September 3, highlights include a Catalina flying boat, and the Wee Dram Seaplane, while the Red Arrows display team will provide the show finale. The ground event will include a funfair, classic cars, simulators, a future zone, virtual reality, Army, Navy and Royal Air Force displays. The family and Spirit AeroSystem­s VIP areas will also feature live music. There will be 15 outlets selling a wide range of food and drink to suit all tastes. Ayr is well served by trains and bus. There is a dedicated airshow car park, which is signposted from outskirts of Ayr, and costs £10 for the day and is a 10-minute walk to the airshow. The event is free to enter for the general public but it is possible to buy comfort seating to ensure a great position and more comfortabl­e day, with dedicated catering, toilets, merchandis­e and the best views of the displays.
