Wedding dress expert Khara found ideal bridal gown for her best pal.. but there was only one way to get the perfect look for herself

In 2015, Louisa asked her to be one of her bridesmaids for her wedding to James Beattie in May 2017.
Khara said: “I was so excited to be part of her special day.”
When her boss Sharon McPherson asked Khara to travel with her to LA on a buying trip in July 2015 to see the 2016-2017 collections for the bridal designer Enzoani, she couldn’t wait.
Thinking of her best friend’s forthcoming nuptials, she knew it would also be the ideal opportunity to look out for a wedding dress for her.
“And that’s exactly where I found my best friend’s wedding dress,” she said. “I knew it was the one for her the minute I saw it. When the model came down the catwalk, I had goose bumps and said to Sharon, ‘That’s it, that’s Louisa’s dress.’”
Six months later, the sample of the dress Khara spotted in LA arrived in the West Kilbride salon and in February 2016, Khara planned a wedding dress shopping trip with Louisa, her mum and all the bridesmaids.
“We went to a couple of other wedding shops first and then came to our shop last. She tried on other dresses and we saved the LA dress until last.
“She put on the dress and everyone was in tears and said, ‘That’s the dress’. Louisa loved it.”
With Louisa’s dress sorted, Khara’s attention moved to finding a bridesmaid dress.
“My heart sunk because I didn’t want to be seen as the big bridesmaid,” she said. “The other two bridesmaids are very slim and I didn’t want to be seen as one that was much bigger.
