MICHAEL GARDYNE has revealed Ross County have turned to yoga classes in a bid to put a spring in their step for a top-six push.

The Staggies midfielder and team-mates Marcus Fraser, Tim Chow and Ryan Dow are being put through their paces twice a week in Dingwall.

And the 31-year-old insists it’s helping prolong his career – despite the early morning starts.

Gardyne who was outstanding in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Dundee, said: “I’m just looking after myself. I’m 31 now and feel better than ever.

“You get looked after at the club and the sports science has been good.

“But I’ve also taken up yoga and these are all things that will help to prolong my career. Marcus Tim, Ryan and myself are doing early morning yoga classes. We do it twice a week and it’s nice.

“We go in at 7.30am. You get some treatment and you’re feeling good to go. It gets us stretching and the body moving.

“The sports masseur comes in and looks after the boys for yoga and fitness.”

County are looking to emulate their exploits of 2015/16 when they won the League Cup and gatecrashed the top six.

Gardyne said: “Last season we just missed out on the top six but this time we want to be as high as we can. The Premiership is one of those leagues where anybody can beat anybody.”
