John Davies’ gelding has thrived recently with eye-catching wins at Wetherby and Thirsk and can complete a hat-trick off just a 3lb higher mark.

Kenneth Slack’s ITALIAN RIVIERA (4.45) can coast to victory in the Catterick Garrison Handicap. Useful over timber, the gelding put in his best effort for a while on the level when second to in-form Vercingeto­rix at Thirsk and could go one better today.
