GARY WOODS insists Hamilton are happy with their tough guys tag and warned Aberdeen to expect another rough trip to the Superseal Stadium tomorrow night.

Accies picked up five bookings while Xavier Tomas saw red as Martin Canning’s men went down 2-0 at Pittodrie in the Premiership opener on Sunday.

The home support howled at some of the challenges but Woods reckons referee Euan Anderson fell for the pressure from the stands.

The sides battle it out in the last 16 of the Betfred Cup next and keeper Woods is hoping Hamilton can maintain their home hoodoo over the Dons.

Aberdeen lost twice last season at the Superseal and Woods said: “Can you be too physical? It is a man’s game and a battle. We gave our all on Sunday but unfortunately we were on the losing side.

“A few of the boys put their foot in and we paid the price.

“Sometimes a couple of them were dubious fouls because they didn’t seem to get many bookings themselves. There was some persistent fouling on their side.

“It is part of the game. Referees have a hard job and we gave them an opportunity to book our players and it happened.

“You wouldn’t like to think the crowd influenced the ref. You would not think officials would get turned by the crowd at the big stadiums.

“It can help the home team when they are up roaring but it is part and parcel away from home.”
