The seedy episode is not the first to blight Tayside officers and follows a smutty text message scandal involving the area’s former police chief.
In 2012, then Tayside Police chief constable Justine Curran was caught talking about a colleague’s manhood with her former personal assistant Theresa Noble.
Noble was being investigated at the time for an alleged insurance fraud.
The probe uncovered the saucy messages, which were sent while Curran was out of the office.
She texted Noble to find out if a senior colleague was at the force’s headquarters in Dundee.
He was suspected of having an affair with a civilian worker at the time.
Curran sent Noble a text saying: “Is [x] there?”
She replied: “No, he’s probably with [y]?” Curran responded: “He must have a big willy.” Noble wrote back: “Yuck.”
A police car was then sent to an address to check if vehicles belonging to the pair were there.
Neither woman faced any disciplinary action but Noble later resigned after the fraud probe against her was dropped.
Curran was recently forced to step down as the boss of Humberside Police and take early retirement after 67 per cent of staff sided against her leadership in a vote of no confidence. S
