A HAIRDRESSING salon is still open for business – despite being wrecked in two overnight attacks. Salon La Greca was targeted on two successive nights. First, the shop was broken into and trashed. The next night, a car ram-raided their front window. Despite the damage, owner Paul Lagreca is determined to stay open. And clients have given him their support by turning up at for their appointments as usual at the salon in wellheeled Corstorphine, Edinburgh. Dad-of-three Paul, 42, said: “We’re sitting with no salon window and all my clients have still arrived for appointments. That is truly amazing.” Paul and wife Bonnie, 40, have been inundated with offers of help from glaziers, shop-fitters, joiners, CCTV camera specialists, local shops and even their bank. The couple say they have no idea why anyone would want to target the salon, which is celebrating its 51st anniversary. Bonnie added: “Paul’s dad Nicola La Greca, who is now 76, set up the business and made it successful. “The reaction from our clients and the local community has been out of this world.

“Their goodness, kindness and support tells you a lot about this community and tells you a lot about how Paul is regarded here.”

Windows were smashed and mirrors ripped off the walls during the raid in the early hours of Monday.

After the attack, Bonnie wrote on social media: “Woken up to the news that our shop has been smashed up and feeling absolutely devastated and confused why someone could put us through this, especially my elderly father-in-law who hasn’t been keeping the best.”

Later she wrote: “Would just like to thank everyone for their kindness. What started off as the worst day on earth ended up being one of the best, realising that there are so many kind people.”

After the ram-raid, Bonnie wrote: “Absolutely devastated. At 5.30 this morning, some evil scum drove a car into our shop. But fingers to you as business as usual.”

Bonnie told the Record: “Lots of businesses have been coming to us offering support.

“Why someone would target a business which has been here for 51 years, we have no idea.

“Maybe whoever is responsible saw my first posts on Facebook and went back for more.”
