JOHN TORODE & GREGG WALLACE

-

THEIR stormy relationship has been well documented for decades.

But rather than close the book on his feud with former bandmate Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel said his kindness towards Paul “created a monster”.

They produced classic songs including Mrs Robinson.

They split in 1970 after becoming embroiled in a bitter argument following the release of their album Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Garfunkel said: “That was our worst fight. After all that shouting we called it quits.”

In 2010, they were due to perform more shows when Garfunkel suffered damage to his vocal chords. He said: “Simon wasn’t supportive. I’m used to the fact we’re different characters.” JOHN revealed he has never been close friends with his MasterChef co-host, Gregg.

He said that despite a shared passion for food, the pair have had vicious arguments while filming and have never been to each other’s houses.

After 12 years judging the show together, and also being best man at Wallace’s wedding, Torode had said: “It’s funny, we’ve never been friends.

“We’ve not been to each other’s houses ... If we go away to somewhere like South Africa, we do things separately. If we do go out for a drink, I’ll invariably be at one end of a big old table and he’ll be at the other.”
