Jamie will make loan spell Count
JIM McINTYRE believes on-loan Celt Jamie Lindsay is ready to grasp his big chance in the Premiership.
The 21-year-old midfielder was advised by Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers to make the move to Ross County this summer to enhance his chances of making the breakthrough at Celtic Park.
After loan spells with Dumbarton and Morton in the Championship, Lindsay needed a sterner challenge and his early performances have convinced McIntyre he can make the leap.
The Staggies gaffer said: “Without being disrespectful to the others Jamie was the pick of our midfielders on Saturday against Aberdeen.
“He got to grips with the game the best. He has done exceptionally well against stiff competition in midfield.
“Players’ performances generally pick the team so he needs to maintain and build on those standards.
“We will change tactics and shape for whoever we are playing but Jamie can be really pleased with how he has performed.
“It’s a learning curve for him at this level. When Jackson Irvine came here from Celtic it took a while for him to get up to speed.
“But Jackson grasped the chance and did brilliantly before earning a move to the Championship in England.
“Jamie has to do the same but he’s a willing listener and is desperate to learn.”
Lindsay is also satisfied with his start at County and said: “I’ve settled in well and playing against the likes of Aberdeen has been great.”
