LEWIS STEVENSON admits if looks could kill he would have been a dead man three years ago.

The full-back revealed Hibs fans didn’t have to speak as their faces said it all in the aftermath of being relegated to the Championship.

The 29-year-old is the sole survivor from the side that lost to Hamilton on penalties in 2014.

The clubs clash at Easter Road today in the Premiership and Stevenson said: “The Hibs fans haven’t said many funny things to me when it hasn’t being going well, that’s for sure!

“When we were relegated it wasn’t so much during games, it was when you were out doing your shopping. It wouldn’t be what they said, it would be the look someone would give you.

“I can take it from opposing fans – that’s almost a boost – but when you get it from your own fans it hurts. It’s the worst feeling you can get when you’re own fans are disappointed in you. That made me stronger and more resilient.

“I’m sure the same people who thought negatively back then have been turned around.

“The last time we played against Hamilton was a horrible day and one we all want to forget and this seems like a much more positive place to be now.

“It’s very different circumstances this time. A lot has changed for both clubs but we want to get a win.”
