Pervert’s ‘sexual obsession’ with 10-year-old
A PENSIONER who filmed a girl of 10 in the toilet and forced her to wear women’s underwear and watch porn has been jailed for eight months.
Robert Sinclair, who lived in sheltered housing, abused the child over a number of years.
A sheriff said he had a “sexual obsession” with his victim.
Sinclair, 65, of Troon, Ayrshire, put a camera in a bathroom and recorded the child on the toilet between December 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013, at an address in his home town.
He made her wear adult underwear, ran his fingers around it and touched the girl’s chest between January 1 and March 1, 2013, at the same address.
Between March 1 and April 30, 2013, Sinclair made the girl watch porn on a tablet computer at a caravan park in Girvan.
He made her look at more porn between December 1, 2013 and January 31, 2014, at another address in Troon. And between October 1 and 31 last year, he tried to force the child to wear underwear belonging to a woman.
Sinclair admitted all the of fences. His lawyer, John Gallagher, said his client had no previous convictions.
Ayr sheriff Desmond Leslie said he was surprised prosecutors had not brought the case under the more serious “solemn procedure” which would have allowed him “greater latitude in sentencing”.
As well as the jail term, he put Sinclair on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
