BAYERN MUNICH hero Manuel Neuer last night admitted he can’t wait to sample the atmosphere of Celtic Park.
The Germany keeper and his team have landed an October double-header against Brendan Rodgers’s men in Group B.
Bayern and Celtic will meet on matchdays three and four and Neuer is excited about the trip to Glasgow’s East End.
He said: “I will meet Celtic for the first time and Celtic Park is known for its outstanding atmosphere. This match is great for the fans.
“The draw is interesting. Paris is of course the fire. I have never played against PSG and look forward to it.
“Anderlecht is an unpleasant opponent we must not underestimate. They could even annoy big names. We must be prepared for that.”
Neuer’s manager and team-mates had a similar assessment of the draw.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti said: “An exciting group with great teams and Paris is at the top. This is a nice story for me to meet with my former club.
“Celtic get, as everyone knows, incredible support from their fans. Anderlecht are the Stadium: Allianz Arena (capacity: 66,000) Carlo Ancelotti James Rodriguez Manuel Neuer Robert Lewandowski Bundesliga winners Champions League 2003- 04 – Celtic 0, Bayern Munich 0; Bayern Munich 2, Celtic 1 5 (‘74, ‘75, ‘76, ‘01, ‘13) champions of Belgium and it is three tough opponents.”
Superstar attacker Thomas Muller added: “Paris is a very interesting opponent, I have never played against them.
“There will also be lots in the games with Celtic, a traditional team with great fans.”
Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic said: “I played against Celtic in 2003 and it was the loudest stadium I’ve experienced.”
