Warbs won’t give up in hunt for McGinn

-

MARK WARBURTON will make a second bid to prise John McGinn from Hibs before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

The Nottingham Forest manager had an initial bid of £750,000 for the Scotland international immediately dismissed as “laughable” by Easter Road boss Neil Lennon who accused the former Rangers gaffer of unsettling McGinn.

But Warburton, who took Jason Cummings from Hibs to the Championship in the summer, isn’t likely to take no for an answer and indicated he isn’t finished in the market.

He said: “I don’t want to tempt fate but I hope we get more business done. We’re pushing very hard but there’s a lot of back and forth.

“There is a lot to the signing of players, it is not an easy business.

“A lot of work has gone on and will continue to go on over the coming days.

Getting deals over the line is not always easy.

“We have been linked with goalkeepers, centre-halves, wing-backs and the odd striker. In all honestly it is wrong for us to comment on other teams’ players. It is unprofessional.

“We are trying to get one or two more in which we have been trying to do for the last few days. We have been going back and forth but we hope we can get them to completion.”
