Curry king’s niece,9 found dead
Heartache for restaurant boss
A YOUNG niece of Scottish curry boss Satty Singh died suddenly yesterday morning.
The nine-year-old girl’s body is understood to have been discovered in her bed by another child at her home.
Police were investigating the death last night.
Officers were called to the Victorian semi-detached
property on Glasgow’s Dumbreck Road at 2pm. Forensic officers remained at the scene until a private ambulance removed the girl’s body at 7.45pm.
Family members hugged each other and cried in the garden of the property.
An uncle, who didn’t want to be named, said Singh’s niece had died in her sleep.
He added: “The family are devastated. She has simply passed away in her sleep.
“There is nothing suspicious, the police are doing their job, they need to investigate these things.
“She was actually discovered by another child, who thought she was sleeping.
“An adult tried to wake her and found she was unconscious, perhaps from some seizure.
“It has just been an awful tragedy that nobody could help and the post-mortem will show that.
“She is a close relative of Satty Singh, but I don’t want to give all the names without the consent of the parents.”
After the body was removed,
