HOME BARGAINS BEAST IS FOUND GUILTY

A PERVERTED Home Bargains shop boss was yesterday convicted of a string of sex attacks on female co-workers.

Andrew Docherty, 29, was found guilty of sexual assaults on three staff members at a branch of the discount chain while targeting a fourth with derogatory remarks.

He was also convicted of sex attacks on women working alongside him in branches of Morrisons and Farmfoods.

The serial predator had been accused of assault with intent to rape two other women in Home Bargains but the charges were not proven.

Docherty closed his eyes and looked down as the majority guilty verdicts were read out at the High Court in Edinburgh. Judge Lord Malcolm deferred sentence until next month for reports and granted him bail.

But he warned Docherty, of St Andrews, Fife, that he’d been convicted of “serious offences” and “all sentencing options will be open to me”.

Docherty, who denied the charges, was working at Home Bargains as an assistant manager.

The trial heard he admitted groping a female worker there but claimed he was “mucking about”.

Following a sexual harassment complaint against him, Docherty had been interviewe­d by an area manager.
