McCann: Dee can snuff out Pedro passion
NEIL McCANN hasn’t met Pedro Caixinha yet but admits he loves the passion he’s seen from the new Rangers boss.
That won’t stop the former Ibrox favourite from doing his best to dampen the Portuguese manager’s enthusiasm by beating his team.
Dundee boss McCann knows that won’t be easy – his side have yet to record a Premiership win this term but believes his players are capable.
He said: “I actually love Pedro’s passion. You can see just by watching him he is passionate.
“It’s infectious but when his team is going forward they can be got at. So that’s what we aim to do when we go there on Saturday.
“I’ve had no real dealings with Pedro. I’ll meet him for the first time on Saturday so I’m looking forward to pitting my wits against him.
“We’ll need lots of bravery at Ibrox and I honestly do believe we’ve got a squad there that doesn’t have any fear.
“They’ll continue to grow and develop in terms of confidence.
“You need to be brave on the ball at Ibrox and I know that from my time there as a player.”
Dundee haven’t won at Ibrox since March 2001 and McCann knows it’s an ideal time to change that.
He said: “I had some great times, winning many trophies and making loads of good friends.
“I’m so looking forward to going back there with my team but we have to be right at it from the start.”
