HOLBY City star John Michie was grieving last night after his daughter died at a fourday music festival, sparking a murder probe.

Louella Michie, 25, was found dead in woodland at the edge of the site of Bestival at Lulworth Castle, Dorset, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Her body was found by police after festival goers raised the alarm over her disappearance.

A 28-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Michie’s agent said: “Sadly, I can

confirm the tragic death of John Michie’s daughter, Louella, at Bestival.

“John and his wife Carol ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

Louella, from London, was the youngest of Michie’s three children and worked as a dancer, actress and model.

Her dad John, 60, has appeared in some of the UK’s top TV shows.

He played Karl Munro in Coronation Street for two years and starred as DI Robbie Ross in Taggart from 1998-2010.

He is currently playing neurosurgeon Guy Self in Holby City.

Louella’s body was found in remote woodland on the edge of the site.

An investigation into the tragedy is under way and a post mortem will be carried out.

It is the first year the Bestival event has taken place at Lulworth Castle. Previously it was on the Isle of Wight.

This year’s event was headlined by the Pet Shop Boys and also starred Rag’n’Bone Man.

The organisers said they were “devastated” by the death, adding: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the woman’s family and friends.”

Michie was born in Burma and brought up in Kenya until his family moved to Edinburgh.

In his early 20s he started working as a stage hand at the city’s Traverse Theatre.

He has another daughter Daisy, 27, and a son Sam, 26. Both work in the entertainment industry and their mum Carol is a former Hot Gossip dancer.

In 2012, Michie gave an interview about his family to our sister paper the Sunday Mail in which he talked about Louella’s birth.

He was starring in London in a play written by Scots actor Richard Wilson, when Carol went into labour.

He said: “I thought, ‘Perfect, I’ll see the baby born and then do the play’.

“But it just went on and on and I was in the hospital drawing on gas and air. Eventually, I was phoned to ask where I was because the audience were in.

“I had to say, ‘I’m really sorry but my wife is about to give birth – can you hold the house for half an hour?’

“Carol was saying, ‘Don’t you dare leave me. You’re not leaving me on my own’. So I didn’t.

“Richard went out as only he could and explained to the audience what had happened.”
