Bar cut prices for a day
JD Wetherspoon are cutting the price of all food and soft drinks in 900 pubs by 7.5 per cent for the day on Wednesday next week.
The firm are supporting a national Tax Equality Day, aimed at highlighting the benefit of a cut in VAT for the hospitality industry.
Food and drink in pubs is subject to VAT at 20 per cent, compared with zero on all food in the supermarket.
