Ant believes he can be champion again

-

ANTHONY McGILL insists he is going into his Indian Open title defence with his belief back.

The world No.18 Scot was at an all-time low with his game before reaching the semi-finals of the Six-Red World Championship last week in Thailand.

And McGill said: “That run has restored my confidence a bit.

“It was nice to just win a few matches to be honest. Before that I felt like I was just rubbish at snooker and I really wasn’t enjoying it.”

McGill plays home favourite Aditya Mehta, while fellow Glaswegian Alan McManus will face Malkeet Singh.

Former world champion Graeme Dott takes on Englishman Jack Lisowski while Stephen Maguire meets Akani Songsermsawad tomorrow.
