Bake Off goes into extra time
SANDI Toksvig has admitted she and Noel Fielding help Bake Off contestants by giving them extra seconds if they are running late.
Bakers last night complained they would not be able to finish their teacakes and cottage loaves, but they were all done when shown to judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.
Co-host Sandi said: “There have been odd times where we’ve slowed down the final 10-second countdown as we can see they’ve got one quick thing left to do.”
Channel 4 said the pair didn’t give any contestants an unfair advantage.
A spokesman said: “Any slowing of the countdown is a matter of mere seconds and gives all the bakers the same amount of time.”
Flo Atkins last night became the third baker to leave the show.
