Pay people more

-

WHEN is a pay rise not a pay rise? Well, when the offer to lift the one per cent pay cap comes on the day that inflation is running at three per cent and food prices spiking then it is not a pay rise at all.

When the funding for pay rises has to come from cuts in public services, that is not a pay rise at all.

It is a downward spiral of people having less money, with nurses on charity and foodbanks and ultimately, it is self-defeating.

Pay people more and they will spend more and the economy will recover.

As a certain TV meerkat might say: Seemples.
