Gypsy yob caged for machete vid threat
Tooled-up traveller goaded reality TV star Paddy Doherty and his family
A GYPSY thug who brandished machetes in a video where feuding travellers challenged reality TV star Paddy Doherty’s family to a fight has been jailed.
Raymond McIntyre, 33, donned a balaclava and held up blades as he goaded members of the Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star’s clan in the clip that was posted on YouTube.
McIntyre had become caught up in a feud between gypsy families and was seen shouting in the footage: “I’m coming for you.”
The video was filmed in Douglas, Lanarkshire, at the “king of the road” horse and cart race meeting in May and has been viewed more than 24,000 times on the video sharing website.
It features five men challenging rivals to a fight before bare-chested McIntyre appears with four weapons tucked into his shorts.
At one point, he turns round to show scars on his back and lifts the balaclava to show part of his face.
The other men are seen flexing their muscles, shadow boxing and calling their rivals “dirty vermin” as horses trot by in the background. One man describes Irish former bare-knuckle boxer Doherty, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, of lying about his fighting prowess.
McIntyre appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court and admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, shouting and swearing and brandishing machetes. The labourer was jailed for 29 months by Sheriff Derek O’Carroll.
It’s not the first time the yob has been caged. In 2009, he was sentenced to six years after he and four other men attacked a funeral party in Fife with machetes. Two victims suffered “horrific” injuries.
In July, McIntyre’s associate James McPhee, 43, of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, was jailed for three years for using YouTube videos to organise fights at Europe’s largest gypsy gathering in Cumbria last year.
