EDINBURGH is the most miserable place to live in the UK, according to a survey.

Just 16 per cent of city residents described their lives as “happy”.

Glasgow, Liverpool and Southampton were also found near the bottom of the table of happiness levels.

Brighton, Leicester and Portsmouth had the most contented residents in the 9NINE Super Seed study.
