A full scale fish escape
WILD salmon in Scottish rivers could breed with 11,040 escaped farmed fish, experts warned yesterday.
They got out of a Scottish Salmon Company farm at Geasgill on Mull and entered rivers including the River Ba, which has a class one rating for salmon conservation.
Greg Marsh of the Scottish Gamekeepers Association said: “Crossbreeding is a real concern.” The Scottish Salmon Company said training and procedures had been reviewed.
