McKay ‘best signing of the summer’
BARRIE McKAY has been dubbed “a real bargain” by Nottingham Forest legend Garry Birtles.
Mark Warburton raided his former club Rangers to snap up McKay this summer in a £500,000 deal and the Scot has been an instant hit at the City Ground.
European Cup winner Birtles said: “Barrie looks like being a superb signing for Nottingham Forest.
“From what I’ve seen, he looks like their best signing of the summer.
“He’s top for assists in the Championship after setting up Daryl Murphy for the winner at Sunderland on Tuesday night, and looks a real bargain.
“His energy, desire and ability to create something make him a really important player for Forest.
“He seems to be thriving on the responsibility given to him by the manager. It’s great to see.”
