Rothes reunion a boost for boss
STEVEN MacDONALD lost Scott Davidson as a neighbour – but they’ve now been reunited as manager and striker at Rothes.
The ambitious Speysiders have beaten off competition from a clutch of top Highland sides to land former Fort William hotshot Davidson.
His 30 goals for the north minnows last season alerted Inverness Caley Thistle but a foot injury blew his chances of a deal.
Recruiting fit-again Davidson, the son of Caley legend Roddy, is the latest sign of Rothes’ emergence and MacDonald said: “It is a huge boost to bring Scotty in.
“I’ve known him a long time, lived next door to him, and we get on well so I’d like to think that went a long way towards him signing.”
Rothes travel to Wick Academy today while leaders Cove face a tricky test at Nairn County.
