HOLY BATVAN

Wife tells Mark to sell up if he wants Spider-car

A BATMAN-themed hearse is up for sale – after the owner’s wife ordered him to get rid of it.

The modified car features a spooky skeleton inside, a coffin, a Batman logo and a smoke machine.

Mark Lumsden’s wife Louise, 31, is making him sell it because he also wants to create a Spider-Man van and she says he can’t have both.

The 18-year-old vehicle was previously used by a funeral director in Aberdeen before Mark bought it 15 months ago.

The dad of two decided to give it a quirky twist which has seen it win multiple awards at car shows across the country.

But the HGV mechanic has now decided to sell the unusual car to make way for his next project – the “Spider-van”.

Mark, 30, from Lochgelly, Fife, said: “I used to do banger racing and I always used to race hearses.

“I bought it as a bit of fun for the road because it had an MOT and it just kind of snowballed. I quite like Batman and so do the kids, who used to call it the Batmobile.

“It’s hilarious when you go to Asda to try to do a shop.”

The car is decorated with stickers including the slogan “Why so serious?” made famous by Batman villain The Joker.

Mark has decided to sell the car for £2000 to make way for his next project.

He added: “I was thinking about getting a van and getting that wrapped like SpiderMan. It would then be the ‘Spider-van’.”
