JAMIE JUMPS TO IT

ADRRASTOS can claim the feature handicap chase (3.35) on a cracking jump card at Worcester.

Useful over timber, Jamie Snowdon’s gelding has taken well to chasing and produced a career best when hacking up at Stratford last time.

That was a fairly strong contest and the consistent five-year-old can shrug off a 5lb hike with further improvement expected over fences.

Evan Williams’s Abbeygrey (2.00) looks simply divine in the opening three-miler.

The eight-year-old defied a four-month absence when crushing his rivals at Newton Abbot last week and can follow up off an unchanged mark.

Viking Mistress (2.30) can make a successful raid on Worcester for trainer Martin Keightly.

The mare is on an attractive mark over fences after her good second at today’s venue last month and will be primed after a decent run over hurdles back here next time.

Wait For Me (3.00) can make the best possible start over fences for Phillip Hobbs.

The seven-year-old ran with credit in hot timber handicaps last season and will be hard to beat if taking to his new career.

Peter Bowen’s Lime Street (4.35) remains in excellent form and can take advantage of a light weight in the staying handicap hurdle.

Enable is thriving ahead of the Arc at Chantilly in three weeks. John Gosden’s filly is sparkling on the gallops and the Newmarket handler is confident she can bag her fifth Group 1 triumph.

Gosden could also be represented by the progressive Cracksman but the handler is keener on tackling next month’s Champion Stakes at Ascot.

Meanwhile, Sir Michael Stoute reported Ulysses could still take his chance in the Arc.

The talented four-year-old is likely to run in the 1m4f showpiece en route to the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Del Mar on November 4.

Stoute also confirmed Expert Eye is back on course for the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 14. The juvenile has recovered from the minor setback that ruled him out of last month’s National Stakes.

● Respected Newmarket trainer Geoff Wragg has died at the age of 87. The handler landed the Epsom Derby in his first season with Teenoso in 1983 and also masterminded the careers of Marling and Pentire.
