ATHENA NOUGHTIES KIDS PHONES 4U JJB SPORTS
THIS is where all your pocket money went. Posters, watches, man and baby, sexy tennis girl.
By the mid-90s, Athena had 165 stores but internet competition hit them hard. The last store in Exeter closed in 2014 but they still have a presence online. PHONES 4u arguably had one of the most successful advertising campaigns of recent years.
We’re not exaggerating. How much time did you spend trying to make the “Phones 4 U” motions with your hands? Sadly, they are no more, entering administration in 2014. If you wanted new kicks or the latest football shirt, where would you go? JJB Sports, of course.
They had everything for your sporting needs - or even if you just wanted a cool trackie to wear. They went into administration in 2012.
