Hard-working Anne is proving that living in a remote location doesn’t have to be a barrier to business success as she is making the most of an idyllic setting

“I gave up my job and in 2013 we started offering hot rolls, soup and sandwiches made to order, along with tea, coffee, cold drinks and home baking.” The stall has proved a huge success. Anne said: “Catering for a couple of busloads, campsite guests and those heading to the beach, every bacon roll, scone and slice of cake can be gone.”

Initially, it was open daily – but now it’s closed on a Monday to give them a chance to plan, cook and bake.

The campsite is open April to October, so Anne spends the winter months catching up on office work, getting maintenanc­e done and doing the books for the business and for her husband’s contractin­g company.

They’re a family of hard workers, with Bethan helping on the food stall and Archie keeping his own sheep, which he has done since he was eight.

The big question for Anne now is whether she’ll expand the business.

She said: “People love the size and friendline­ss of the campsite and the food is a big hit because it’s all homemade.

“If I do expand, I’ll plan as carefully as I did first time round, as everything has worked out so well.”
