SCOTS DREAM OF £168MILLION LOTTERY WIN
Mega jackpot could create UK’s biggest-ever winner
THE biggest lottery prize in UK history is up for grabs tomorrow as another rollover took it to its £168million limit.
If won by a single ticketholder, the EuroMillions draw would create the biggest-ever winner.
About £55million has gone to the lottery good causes after nine rollovers.
Camelot say the pot has now reached its maximum, and that will be worth up to £168million depending on the exchange rate.
Current record holders Colin and Chris Weir, of Largs, Ayrshire, won £161million on EuroMillions in 2011.
The National Lottery senior winners’ adviser Andy Carter said: “The sum would be life-changing whether won by an individual or syndicate.
“It would enable them to transform their life, as well as the lives of friends and family, and we are poised to support them from the moment they claim.”
Now the maximum jackpot is on offer, any money that would have gone into boosting the top prize will be shared among players in the next prize tier. This means the draw is poised to make multi-millionaires of players matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
If one winner scoops the £168million jackpot, they would be ranked the joint 671st richest person in the UK overnight.
Chef Jamie Oliver has a £150million fortune, F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is worth £131million and Adele has sung her way to £125million.
A single winner would also be richer than Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe (£78million), Emma Watson (£39million) and Rupert Grint (£28million), who are worth a combined £145million.
In all, there have been five EuroMillions jackpots of more than £100million won by UK ticket-holders. A record nine UK players won the Euro jackpot in 2015.
