LEAVE HER ALONE ..OR GO TO PRISON
Court order for malicious dad who harassed headteacher
A FATHER who made a headteacher’s life a misery during an 11-year campaign of harassment has been ordered to leave her alone or face jail.
Geraldine McWilliams said Richard Russell went on “an obsessive quest to ruin her life” after they clashed when she worked at St Monica’s Primary in Pollok, Glasgow.
The headteacher took Russell to court, saying he has been harassing her since she reported concerns about his children to social workers in 2006.
Previous court orders aimed at preventing Russell from contacting or making claims about Geraldine, 65, were granted but proved ineffective.
Yesterday, she won a civil case for a new order against Russell. He will be arrested immediately if he breaches the three-year order.
Geraldine said “I pray that this is an end to it. Words cannot describe the last 11 years.”
Glasgow Sheriff Aisha Anwar said Russell had carried out a “persistent, sustained, malicious and vengeful course of conduct”.
She added: “The defender’s ability to distort the truth and present fact as fiction was both unlimited and shameless.”
The court heard Russell’s harassment began after his daughter reported being slapped on the leg by her dad to staff at St Monica’s.
In line with school policy, Geraldine, who is now retired, made referrals to social workers.
The matter was investigated but no further action was taken.
