IN SQUAD WE TRUST

- GARRY OWEN racing@dailyrecord.co.uk

AIR SQUADRON (3.05) can blitz his rivals in the 32Red.com Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon.

A useful stayer on the Flat, Tom George’s gelding has been progressive over timber and can shrug off a 4lb penalty for last month’s emphatic Southwell success.

In-form Alan King can add the handicap chase to his tally with MILLE NAUTIQUE (2.00).

The six-year-old produced his best effort for a while when making all in a decent event at Market Rasen last time and will take some catching again today despite a 5lb penalty.

PEMBA (3.40) can open her account over fences in the 32Red Novices’ Chase.

Fergal O’Brien’s mare was just denied by the useful Ashoka at Sedgefield in August and can go one better after a break in a weaker-looking contest.

NUMBER ONE LONDON (4.10) can claim a competitive handicap hurdle for Tim Vaughan. The seven-year-old caught the eye when runner-up to the thriving Zamoyski at Southwell and remains well-handicapped on the pick of his form.

SHANROE SANTOS (4.25) can just shade the trappy feature handicap chase at Warwick.

Lucy Wadham’s gelding was largely progressive last season and can put his excellent course record to good use against some talented rivals.

IMPHAL (2.55) can continue his excellent run of form on the All-weather at Lingfield. Marcus Tregoning’s gelding showed a willing attitude to complete his hat-trick at Goodwood last time and could still be ahead of the handicapper right now.

■ Scottish jockey Rab Havlin is keen to get on with his career as he returns from a drug ban.

The veteran has not ridden since January after being suspended by France Galop after testing positive for a banned substance at Saint-Cloud a year ago.

However, Havlin has kept himself fit by riding out for boss John Gosden and makes his comeback on the trainer’s Purser in a Lingfield novice contest.

■ Classy bumper performer Fayonagh will make her timber debut at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

The dual Grade 1-winning mare is reported to be in good shape by trainer Gordon Elliott and will begin her new career in a maiden hurdle at the Meath venue.

■ Jer’s Girl – Gavin Cromwell’s dual Grade One-winning hurdler – is likely to be stepped up in trip after finishing fourth in the Istabraq Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday.
