£1.6million to fight invaders

A PROJECT to tackle the problems posed by invasive species like mink, giant hogweed and Japanese knotweed has received a £1.59million funding boost.

Scottish Natural Heritage were given the grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund to target species associated with lochs and rivers.

£126k drug bust

Drugs with a street value of £126,000 were seized in Aberdeen on Wednesday. Heroin, cocaine, cannabis and cash were recovered from a property in Ferryhill.
