It’s not even Halloween yet but some children are already dreaming about December 25 – here are the must-have presents that could be on their wishlist
SANTA’S going to need a lot of batteries and chargers in his sleigh this year – as retailers predict hi-tech toys will top Christmas lists. High-street toy firm Hamley’s have released their top 10 most wanted list for 2017 – and it’s a mixture of old favourites such as Star Wars, Barbie and FisherPrice along with new pretenders like TV heroes PJ Masks and Tyler the Playful Tiger.
The key theme is an increasing interactivity, artifical intelligence and technology – from dolls to action toys and playsets.

GET A GRIP
THIS ingenious lo-fi toy is a twist on the ”no thumbs challenge” in which players compete head-to-head in games without using their thumbs.
Players wrap their thumbs in the included hand bands so they can’t use them. Then a player picks a card that will give a task such as drawing. Suitable for ages 8+, £21. charge-free – the Nerf gun/ car set and a quirky handheld challenge game – as the tech craze booms.
Hamley’s head buyer Victoria Kay said: “We’ve seen a lot of tech for tech’s sake in the past few years.
“Now, whether it’s a plush or a more sophisticated Lego build, they are getting smarter in how kids can personalise and programme them.”

PJ MASKS’ HEADQUARTERS PLAYSET
PARENTS of pre-schoolers will be well-acquainted with the Disney Jr smash hit PJ Masks, about nursery kids who become crimefighters by night when their jammies turn into superhero costumes.
This double-sided playset is more than two feet tall and has three levels filled with engaging, kid-powered features allowing them to choose a mission and activate phrases and the catchy theme song.
