I hope Jupp gets Bayern smokin’

-

BERTI VOGTS believes his old smoking buddy Jupp Heynckes has his work cut out to spark a Bayern Munich revival. The former Scotland boss was a team-mate of the newly-appointed Bayern boss when the pair were at Borussia Monchengladbach in the 1970s. Vogts reckons his pal – who is back for a fourth spell at Bayern – has a mess to sort out at the Allianz Arena after Carlo Ancelotti’s acrimonious departure this month. Celtic head to Germany next week in the Champions League and Vogts said: “I have known Jupp for so many years. In the old days we have smoked a cigarette and drunk beer together after another title win. “So I am happy as any Gladbacher that once again one of us is allowed to take over the biggest German club. “But he knows he can’t win the Treble like in 2013. The maximum would be the Bundesliga. “I hope he goes as far as possible in the Champions League but I don’t think he will.”
