MORELOS TARGETS CELTIC

-

ALFREDO MORELOS has told Rangers fans the club can get the better of Celtic this season.

The 21-year-old Colombian has been in superb form since his summer move from Finland and has already netted eight times.

Morelos drew a blank against the Hoops in the 2-0 Ibrox defeat last month but is already plotting revenge in the remaining Old Firm meetings.

The striker has spoken of his pride at starring for Gers and wants to help the club achieve success.

He said: “It’s one of the biggest derbies in the world, a very impressive atmosphere and very nice for me as a footballer. It was something incredible.

“We didn’t manage to get a favourable result this time but there are at least three more games against Celtic. I know we’ll get a positive result for Rangers.

“Being in this great institution with its tremendous history is something that is very important for my career.”

Morelos, in a radio interview with South American-based Britmania,

added: “Hopefully I can continue to contribute to the team. Playing in front of a full house is great. The fans always support the team.

“I’m very happy with the way I’ve started. The team did not start in the best way but we had a lot of new players and hardly knew each other.

“We lost in Luxembourg which was very bad. We were unlucky and they were very lucky. But we are close to Celtic in the league, we have a positive mentality and goals in our team.”
