A SCOTS school­boy be­came an in­ter­net sen­sa­tion af­ter a clip of him play­ing the bag­pipes while wind­surf­ing went vi­ral.

Max Rae’s ver­sion of Scot­land the Brave – played while rid­ing in the wake of a boat – has been viewed more than 19,000 times on­line.

Max, 12, from Bridge of Al­lan, Stir­ling­shire, is a reg­u­lar at a Dundee wa­ter­sport cen­tre and is a mem­ber of his school’s pipe band.

It seems Max isn’t alone when it comes to ex­treme bag­pip­ing. From play­ing while whizzing down a zi­pline at 50mph to hit­ting the high notes on the in­ter­na­tional space sta­tion, some peo­ple can’t get enough of pip­ing in thrilling places.
