RODDY GARDEN ZIP WIRE
RODDY kept a tune going while travelling at speeds of up to 50mph on a zipwire 100ft above Ceannabeinne Beach in Durness, Sutherland.
The daredevil piper was filmed flying over the beach playing The Taking of Beaumont Hamel.
Roddy, from Cove, Aberdeen, said it was fun and the “most unusual place” he had played.
The 49-year-old, who has also played in the mountains and while bungee jumping, said: “I like to play whenever I can, sometimes in strange places. I hadn’t thought about it until we got to the zipline and said to my girlfriend, ‘I’ll just go for it’.
“I got harnessed in and off I went. I was so busy trying to play a tune I forgot to look at the view.
“I play with the Helensburgh Pipe Band and they were all laughing their heads off after seeing the video. I’ve now been challenged to do it on a bungee jump – I’m not to sure about that one but we’ll see.”
