COX LOOSE PAIR

Scots brothers to row the Atlantic completely naked

TWO Scots brothers are preparing to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic ocean – completely naked.

Kris and Blair Elliot, from Dunblane, are just weeks away from embarking on the gruelling endurance race from Tenerife to the West Indies.

And Stirling firefighter Kris, 30, has revealed that he and offshore engineer Blair, 28, will be forced to strip off for the majority of their journey. He said: “We have to row naked most of the way across because the clothes will just rub against our skin and cause all sorts of problems.

“So it’s birthday suits all the way from start to finish.” The pair will take on the world’s most dangerous ocean in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge on December 12.

Starting in La Gomera in the Canary Islands, they will brave huge waves and shark-infested waters before hopefully arriving at their final destination in Antigua around 70 days later. They pair, who have so far raised £55,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity, will be rowing under the banner Team Noble in memory of former Alloa Watch Manager John Noble.

John was killed in January 2008 when the fire engine he was travelling in hit a tree on the A91.

The brothers hope they can reach their target of £100,000 after completing their mission and selling their boat.
