LISA EVANS insists Scotland’s Euro heartache can help drive them to the top of their 2019 World Cup qualifying group tonight.

The Scots play an Albania side ranked 73rd in the world – and if Evans and her team-mates win by four or more they will overtake Switzerland at the top of Group 2.

The clash at St Mirren Park, with free admission, is the first home game since the Euros, where the Scots crashed out in the group stage on goal difference.

But Arsenal ace Evans says it’s made her all the more determined to make it to France.

She said: “Holland in the summer was absolutely mind-boggling. I didn’t expect it to be as big as it was.

“You get a small taste of that and you’re hungry for more. It definitely motivates you even further to get to your first World Cup.”

Evans joined the Gunners just before the Euros started, having spent five years in Germany with Turbine Potsdam and then Bayern Munich after leaving Glasgow City.

She has scored 14 goals in her 65 caps – but she admits even that won’t guarantee her a start tonight.

New Scotland boss Shelley Kerr is looking to shake things up and has stated she’s approaching every game differently, promising changes to the side that beat Belarus 2-1 in Minsk on Thursday.

Evans said: “We’re expecting Albania will be very similar to Belarus. They’re going to sit deep and they’re going to be compact.

“We’re going to have to be patient and break them down.”
