STEVE CLARKE doesn’t care if a winning start to his managerial reign with Kilmarnock spells the end of Pedro Caixinha’s time at Rangers.

The pressure is all on the home side when Killie travel to Ibrox tomorrow night after their League Cup semi-final defeat by Motherwell on Sunday prompted Caixinha to launch another furious tirade at his players.

Another slip-up could prove fatal to the Portuguese manager’s job prospects, but Clarke insists Pedro’s plight is the last thing on his mind as he strives to get off to a flier in his first game in charge.

He said: “We just worry about ourselves and focus on what we can do.

“We want to go there and start well, get ourselves in the game and hopefully give a good account of ourselves. All the rest that goes on about other clubs is not something we should bother about.

“I went to Hampden and watched the game on Sunday. I thought it was all right. It was a good semi-final because sometimes it can be a bit of a damp squib but Rangers started the game well.

“They were in control, looked a good team, moved the ball well, created two or three good chances and on another day if they got in front it’s a different outcome. Small margins decide every game.

“It’s a good start for me to have two exciting games with Rangers and then Celtic.

“There is probably less expectation on us from outside the camp – but from within the camp we have to go into both games quietly confident that we can cause some upsets.”
