We sounded Horne on a superb win

GEORGE HORNE inspired Glasgow to glory and insisted he proved size isn’t everything.

Warriors trumped the Southern Kings to notch their seventh Pro14 triumph on the trot.

But it was a sloppy home-turf display that will leave boss Dave Rennie with concerns in the build up to the autumn Test exodus of his frontline stars.

Horne wasn’t bothered though as he earned the man of the match prize and snatched the sixth of the seven tries.

He said: “Sometimes it helps to be one of the wee guys.

“There wasn’t much space but I managed to sneak through.

“It was a great result after a couple of tough weeks in Europe.”

Despite looking shaky against the South Africans, Glasgow’s lead was stretched at the top of their league group.

Warriors fans couldn’t have dreamed of a brighter start.

Centre Sam Johnson embarked on a weaving run after just 60 seconds.

He cruised into the danger zone before delivering the scoring pass to Stuart Hogg.

Kings broke their duck in the 13th minute with a simple penalty by Masixole Banda.

Warriors were given another wake-up call midway through the half as Banda found the target again.

Glasgow kept up the momentum and fans’ favourite Niko Matawalu darted over from close range.

Adam Hastings then added the extras from a tricky angle.

And just two minutes later Warriors created a third try, Nick Grigg finishing after a break by Hastings who converted.

The bonus point score came on the hour.

Zander Fagerson crashed round the front of a lineout and carried two markers across the line with him.

Sub George Turner was driven over for No.5.

And Horne finished off a pick-and-go move to add to the tally.

Jacques Nel bagged a consolation Kings try from an interception.

But Turner had the last word for Glasgow.
