“There were times when I’ve said to Lucy, ‘You might as well go because I can’t give you what you want’, but obviously she didn’t.”

Lucy revealed Craig found it difficult to acknowledg­e he had an infertilit­y problem.

She said: “I suppose he was in denial. Blokes don’t talk about things like that and probably at the time we weren’t aware how much it affects men.

“Craig was saying you almost assume it’s going to be on the ladies’ side and never the men’s until you start talking to people. Then you realise

how common it is.”
