Father of bride’s partner spat in man’s face
A DRUNKEN wedding guest caused havoc at the reception by spitting on a fellow reveller and attacking a female hotel worker and police officers.
Linda Dallas, whose partner was father of the bride, was involved in three separate incidents – including dragging a hotel worker to the ground by the hair – at the wedding bash on May 6.
Dal las, 49, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday. She previously admitted assaulting wedding guest Kevin Brownlee at the Ferrybridge Hotel in North Queensferry, Fife, by grabbing him by the arm then spitting on his face.
She also assaulted hotel worker Shelly Hutton by seizing her by the hair and pulling her to the ground by the hair. She further admitted assaulting two police constables by spitting at them when they arrived at the hotel to investigate the incident.
Prosecutor Jane Rennie told the court: “The accused went to the front door of the hotel where the bride’s step-brother was smoking.
“She began to shout and swear and was making derogatory comments about the bride which caused offence. He challenged her and told her she was out of order. She grabbed his arm and spat on his face.”
Sheriff Alison McKay told Dallas, of Gilmerton Dykes, Edinburgh: “Spitting on people is a particularly disgusting way to behave.”
The sheriff sentenced her to a community payback order with 12 months’ supervision.
