Hoffman hit by new claim
DUSTIN Hoffman was yesterday accused of sexually harassing a second woman – a day after he apologised for his past behaviour.
And actor Jeremy Piven, star of the ITV series Mr Selfridge, became the latest star to be accused in the growing scandal of sex pests in showbusiness.
Producer Wendy Riss Gatsiounis said Hoffman propositioned her at a work meeting in 1991, when she was 20 and the Oscar winner was 53 and married.
Gatsiounis, who was discussing a film being made of a play she had written, said he asked her: “Wendy, have you ever been intimate with a man over 40?” before inviting her to a nearby hotel.
She said she declined and the film was never made.
A Hoffman representative declined to comment on the allegation.
He had apologised after being accused by writer Anna Graham Hunter.
US star Piven, 52, was accuaccused by Smallville actreactress Cassidy FreFreeman, 35, of “ppredatory behbehaviour”.
SShe said he did somsomething to her when she was “far too younyoung”.
He has yet to respond – but has denied a previprevious claim by actreactress Ariane Bellamar, 38, thatth he forcefully fondfondled her on two occaoccasions.
ThThe latest claims to hit HHollywood came as a reprerepresentative for film star KevinK Spacey said yesteyesterday: “Kevin is takintaking the time necenecessary to seek evaluevaluation and treattreatment.”
ThThe Oscar winner, 58, was saids by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp, 46, to have climbed on him in bed in 1986 when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.
Spacey tweeted that he did “not remember the encounter” but added: “If I did behave as he says, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour.”
