“We have an idea of where we want to be and this can help us do that. Now I’m starting to live the dream working with my brothers and doing our own thing and writing our own music.

“It’s the chance to perform with each other.

“We’ve had that bond all our lives so we don’t have to try to get to know each other and our voices blend. It’s a great experience – I’m loving it.”

Kyle added: “If you’ve got a passion for what you do then The X Factor is a good place.

“We’ve been singing in previous bands before this – this is on a bigger scale.”

Shereen said: “Each day is a new day and everything is different.

“We’re tackling it together and loving it.”

The group are coping well under pressure. Jay explained: “We’re normally quite laid back anyway.

“We just go up there and take every bit of advice we get. We take everything on board.”

And the group are confident that they could win the contest. Shereen said: “We’re in it to win it.” They also want to make Scotland proud.

Kyle added: “We’re flying the flag for Scotland.”

They know winning would transform their lives. Shereen said: “It’s life-changing when you get to that stage.

“One Direction and Little Mix – it’s turned their lives around – that could be us next.” ● The X Factor is on Tonight, STV, 8.20pm.
